Several changes to the S&P 500 begging December 18 are moving the concerned stocks today.
Mead Johnson Nutrition, which is being split off from Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY) in an exchange offer, will replace MBIA (NYSE:MBI).
Visa (V) will take Ciena's (NASDAQ:CIEN) place on the index. Ciena will in turn replace Blyth (NYSE:BTH) in the S&P MidCap 400, and Blyth will replace C&D Technologies (CHP) in the S&P SmallCap 600.
S&P MidCap 400 members Ross Stores (NASDAQ:ROST), Cliffs Natural Resources (NYSE:CLF), and SAIC (NYSE:SAI) will all swap places will Dynegy (NYSE:DYN), KB Home (NYSE:KBH) and Convergys (NYSE:CVG) in the S&P 500.
