Cell phone giant Nokia (NYSE:NOK) is suing 11 makers of liquid crystal display makers for allegedly fixing prices.
Companies traded in the U.S. that are named in the suit include AU Optronics (NYSE:AUO) and LG Display (NYSE:LPL).
Nokia says the companies set LCD prices above competitive market prices from 1996 to 2006. Nokia used the displays in its cell phones, and therefore believes it is entitled to compensation.
A year ago, the U.S. Department of Justice fined several LCD companies, including LG Display, for price fixing.
