Yesterday afternoon, US Steel (NYSE:X) declared its quarterly dividend of five cents per share, maintaining the amount paid last quarter. Based on the current stock price, investors can expect a yield of about one half of one percent going forward.
In morning trading, shares of US Steel were trading lower, off about five percent today as the stock continues to fall.
In other dividend news, Peabody Energy (NYSE:BTU) maintained its quarterly dividend of 7 cents per share. Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) maintained its quarterly dividend of 50 cents per share. And Grainger (NYSE:GWW) maintained its quarterly dividend of 46 cents per share.
Among dividend reductions, Valero Energy (NYSE:VLO) announced its quarterly dividend of 5 cents per share, a decrease of about 67% from its prior dividend in November of 15 cents.
