Brinker International (NYSE:EAT), owner of Chili's Bar and Grill, announced second quarter fiscal 2010 earnings of 29 cents per share, beating estimates of 22 cents.
Shares of Brinker are up almost 12%.
McMoRan Exploration Co. (MMR) announced that its Davy Jones ultra-deep well has been drilled an additional 340 feet and another 65 net feet of gas has been discovered.
McMoran is up more than seven and a quarter percent on the news.
State Street (NYSE:STT) earned almost $500 million in the fourth quarter, more than double the profits in the same quarter last year.
State Street stock is up more than 5.5%.
InterOil Corporation (NYSE:IOC) announced confirmation of indications of oil in the Antelope-2 well in Papua New Guinea. The Company is continuing to test whether the zone contains commercial quantities of oil and will announce the results of these tests when the evaluation has been completed.
Shares of InterOil are up almost 6.5% today.
Covidien (COV) announced a quarterly profit of $412 million, up from $386 million in the same year-ago period. Sales were $2.7 billion, up from $2.6 billion.
Covidien is up over 3.5% so far today.
And Cree Inc. (NASDAQ:CREE) announced second quarter profit had tripled with non-GAAP earnings at 38 cents per share. Sales can in at $199.5 million, a 35% increase compared to the same period last year.
