U.K.-based financial services company Prudential (NYSE:PUK) said today it will buy American International Group’s (NYSE:AIG) Asian life insurance operation for a total of $35.5 billion in cash and stock.
Since the announcement, Prudential shares are lower, currently down about 13%.
Armstrong World Industries (NYSE:AWI) saw fourth quarter 2009 net sales drop 8 percent, from the same period for 2008.
Adjusted net income was $0.22 per diluted share, compared to $0.17 per diluted share, on the same basis in 2008.
Shares of Armstrong World are down more than 6.75% after the announcement.
Shanda Interactive Entertainment (SNDA) posted net income for the fourth quarter of $54.1 million, an increase of 13% from the fourth quarter of 2008 and a decrease of 15% from the third quarter of 2009.
Shanda is declining since the annoucement, down more than 9.5%.
