Gaylord Entertainment (GET) announced that they fully evacuated approximately 1,500 hotel guests and employees from the Gaylord Opryland Resort due to the flooding in Tennessee. The evacuation occurred long before the levees were breached and all the guests and employees of the resort are safe.
The company withdrew its 2010 financial guidance, but said it is likely that financial results for Gaylord Opryland and thus Gaylord Entertainment will be impacted for the next two quarters.
Shares of Gaylord are down about 10.4%.
Encore Energy Partners (ENP) announced a cash distribution of $0.50 per unit, down from the third and fourth quarter 2009 distribution rate of $0.5375 per unit.
Denbury Resources (DNR), the ultimate parent of the partnership’s general partner, and the partnership announced that they intend to explore a broad range of strategic alternatives to enhance the value of partnership units, including, but not limited to, those involving a possible merger, sale or other transaction involving the partnership, Denbury’s general partner interest or all or part of the 46% of Partnership units it owns.
On the news, shares of Encore Energy are down more than 13%.
CapitalSource (CSE) posted a net loss for the first quarter of $212 million, or $0.66 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $244 million, or $0.76 per diluted share, in the prior quarter and a net loss of $104 million, or $0.36 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2009. Analysts were expecting a much smaller loss and today shares are down.
Currently CapitalSource is lower by nearly 9%.
McMoRan Exploration (MMR) announced today that James R. Moffett will be named to the additional role of President and Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of Glenn A. Kleinert.
