Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) posted second quarter consolidated net operating revenues of approximately $8.0 billion, a net loss of $760 million and a pro forma diluted loss per share of 15 cents. Sprint gained a total of approximately 111,000 net subscribers in the quarter.
On the news, shares of Sprint Nextel are up 1.4%.
Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) (NASDAQ:CMCSK) said revenue increased 6.1% in the second quarter of 2010 to $9.5 billion. EPS was $0.31, a 6.1% decrease from the $0.33 reported in the second quarter of 2009, reflecting growth in consolidated operating cash flow, offset primarily by costs related to the NBC Universal transaction and income tax benefits included in last year’s results. Excluding these items, second quarter 2010 EPS would have grown 13.8% over the comparable period in 2009.
