AK Steel (AKS) was upgraded by Goldman Sachs (GS) from neutral to buy as the decline in iron ore prices should help strengthen margins at the steel company. With the upgrade, Goldman set a price target of $17 per share.
Shares of AK Steel are up more than 6.5% so far today.
Keryx Biopharmaceuticals (KERX) today announced that perifosine has received Orphan Drug designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nervous system affecting mostly children and infants for which there are no FDA approved therapies.
On the news, Keryx is up more than 15%.
On about 1.1 million shares traded so far, Provident Energy Trust (PVX) is seeing shares gain, currently higher by more than 7.5%.
Entree Gold (EGI) is trading heavy volume today and seeing shares up more than 8.25%.
