Women's healthcare company Conceptus (NASDAQ:CPTS) disappointed investors after the bell Thursday, warning it now expects a second quarter loss versus prior guidance for a small profit. Investors punished Conceptus shares in early trading Friday, sending the stock lower by about 20%.
Hair care company Regis Corporation (NYSE:RGS) announced its quarterly revenues fell 5.6%, on a same store sales decline of 2.7%. Regis shares fell about 10% on the news.
Shares of Big 5 Sporting Goods (NASDAQ:BGFV) were off 9%; the company updated its second quarter guidance after top-line results came in worse than expected. Same store sales were down half a percent, which the company blamed on the sluggish pace of the economic recovery.
And shares of Myriad Genetics (NASDAQ:MYGN) fell about 7%, after J.P. Morgan (NYSE:JPM) lowered its rating on the company from overweight down to neutral, and lowered its target on the stock by 10 dollars per share, down to $18 from the prior target of $28.
