In midday trading Wednesday, the SPDR S&P International Consumer Discretionary Sector ETF (AMEX:IPD) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 1.3% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Virgin Media (NASDAQ:VMED), up about 3.2% and shares of Magna International (MG.A.CA), up about 0.5% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Home Construction Index ETF (AMEX:ITB), down about 2.4% in Wednesday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Wednesday were shares of Standard Pacific (NYSE:SPF), lower by about 4.9%, and shares of Ryland Group (NYSE:RYL), lower by about 4.6% on the day.
