Gold is declining today, and the dollar is gaining strength compared to the euro on worries about Europe’s economy and banking center.
Gold is trading up to over $1,256 an ounce, sending the iShares COMEX Gold Trust (AMEX:IAU) up just over .8%, while the Gold Miners ETF (AMEX:GDX) trades up just under .8%.
The dollar is higher vs. the euro today, and the WisdomTree Dreyfus Euro Fund (AMEX:EU) is down .7%.
The dollar declined compared to the yen, after the Bank of Japan left its benchmark interest rate unchanged. The Japanese Yen Trust (AMEX:FXY) is up 1% Tuesday.
