Pacific Gas and Electric Company (NYSE:PCG) said today that it is continuing to work towards determining the cause of yesterday’s explosion and fire in San Bruno, CA, near the San Francisco airport.
A gas leak is suspected in the explosion, which killed one person.
PG&E said it will cooperate with the National Transportation and Safety Board in investigating the accident.
The company said gas flow to the area has been shut down, and it will work to make the area safe, assess damage and restore service.
Also today, Enbridge Energy Partners (NYSE:EEP) said it has shut down an oil line in Romeoville, Illinois.
A leak was reported, and the line was shutdown within minutes. Oil leaked onto a road and into a retaining pond, but the company does not yet have an estimate for how much oil leaked.
The 34-inch line transports 670,000 barrels per day of light synthetics, heavy and medium crude oil between Superior, Wisconsin and Griffith, Indiana.
