Digital security company Uniloc has sued Adobe Systems (NASDAQ:ADBE), Symantec (NASDAQ:SYMC), and several other firms alleging patent infringement.
Uniloc says the companies used its patented anti-piracy product activation method and system without authorization. The other firms named in the suit are CA (NASDAQ:CA), National Instruments (NASDAQ:NATI), Pervasive Software (PVSW), SafeNet’s Alladin Knowledge, Avid Technology’s (NASDAQ:AVID) Pinnacle Systems, Sonic Solutions (SNIC) and Onyx Graphics.
Uniloc is looking for compensation as well and a court order to stop the companies from using its technology. The company won a judgment against Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) in the past.
