Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and India-based biotech Biocon, said today they have entered into an agreement on the commercialization for four Biocon insulin products.
Pfizer will have exclusive rights to commercialize Recombinant Human Insulin, Glargin, Aspart and Lispro globally, except in Germany, India and Malaysia.
Pfizer will make upfront payments of $300 million, and Biocon will be eligible for an additional $150 million in milestone payments.
And late Friday, the Food and Drug Administration approved Allergan’s (NYSE:AGN) cosmetic treatment Botox for use in treating chronic migraine.
The drug was approved for patients with a history of migraine who suffer from headaches on 15 or more days per month, with headaches lasting four hours or longer.
Allergan said Botox injected as a prophylactic in recommended locations in the head and neck can produce results for patients for three months.
