Leonard Green & Partners is eager to acquire warehouse club operator BJ's Wholesale Club (BJ), and according to the New York Post, may attempt a hostile takeover if the company does does not initiate an auction soon.
Just last week, Leonard Green made an offer to buy Jo-Ann Stores (JAS) for $1.6 billion in cash. In November, the company was part of a controversial buyout of J Crew Group (JCG). TPG Capital was the other party involved in that transaction.
