Despite chilly weather that typically feeds demand for natural gas, nat gas futures are falling again today after a big decline yesterday.
Futures fell bellow $4 per million BTUs Friday, hitting multi-year lows for the month of December.
Natural gas is trading at down slightly, while crude oil trades up to $87.79 a barrel Friday morning.
The First Trust ISE-Revere Natural Gas Index Fund (NYSE:FCG) is trading down over .1%. Top holdings in the fund include Stone Energy (SGY), at 5.22% of the portfolio, Newfield Exploration Company (NFX), at 3.87% of the fund, and SM Energy (NYSE:SM), at 3.84%.
Hess (NYSE:HES) and Exco Resources (XCO) round out the top five holdings.
The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Index Fund (AMEX:IEO) is trading down nearly .2%, while the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Equipment & Services ETF (NYSE:XES) is trading up about .1%.
