Buckeye Technologies (NYSE:BKI) shares are higher after the company announced better than expected results and raised its dividend. Earnings for the second quarter more than doubled to $0.50 per share.
Higher sales and higher margins resulted in the company raising its dividend by 25% to $0.05 per share.
Shares are higher by nearly 18 percent.
Piper Jaffray (NYSE:PJC) shares are higher after it beat analyst estimates for its fourth quarter due to U.S. municipal bond market bolstered turmoil which resulted in greater fixed-income trading revenue.
Earnings were $9.4 million, or 49 cents per share, down from $12.2 million, or 63 cents per share in the same period last year. Excluding a one time charge due to restructuring, the company would have earned 97 cents per share.
