Robbins & Myers (RBN) reported an increase in both revenue and profit for the first quarter. Net income was nearly $14.7 million, or 45 cents per share, for the quarter versus about $6 million, or 18 cents per share, in the same period last year. Revenue was $164 million up 26 percent from 129.4 million in the same period a year ago.
Shares are higher by over fifteen percent.
Affymax (AFFY) is trading higher on Friday after it announced that it has appointed President John Orwin as CEO, effective February 1. Orwin succeeds Arlene Morris, who will stay on as a consultant until September.
