This morning, Mercury General (NYSE:MCY) declared its quarterly dividend of 60 cents per share, maintaining the amount paid to shareholders last quarter. Based on the current stock price, investors can expect a yield of about 6.1% going forward.
In afternoon trading, shares of MCY were sharply lower due to poor earnings by the company, falling more than 8.5% so far today.
In other dividend news, United Technologies (NYSE:UTX) maintained its quarterly dividend of 42.5 cents per share. Goldcorp (NYSE:GG) maintained its monthly dividend of 3 cents per share. And World Wrestling Entertainment (NYSE:WWE) maintained its quarterly dividend of 36 cents per share.
And among dividend increases, Boardwalk Pipeline Partners (NYSE:BWP) announced its quarterly dividend of 52 cents per share, an increase of about 1% over its prior dividend in October of 51.5 cents.
