RadioShack (RSH) reported fourth quarter earnings after the bell yesterday of $57 million, or $0.51 per share, compared to $75.7 million, or $0.60 per share, in the same quarter last year.
Sales rose 3.8%, to $1.37 billion, better than analysts had forecast, although earnings per share missed estimates.
RadioShack has been making a push into wireless sales, even partnering with Target (NYSE:TGT) to put wireless kiosks in its stores, although it appears, for now, the move isn’t paying off.
The company projected earnings of $1.60 to $1.90 per share for the full year, compared to Wall Street forecasts of $1.80 per share.
Also late yesterday, Leap Wireless (LEAP) posted a wider net loss for its fiscal fourth quarter.
The company said its net loss totaled $167 million, or $3.28 per share, compared to a loss of $64 million, or $0.82 per share, in last year’s fourth quarter.
The company’s adjusted loss totaled $1.48 per share, worse than analysts expected.
Revenue rose 13%, to $708 million, well ahead of analyst estimates.
