Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) (NASDAQ:CMCSK) said today its fourth quarter profits rose to $1.02 billion, or $0.36 per share, compared to $955 million, or $0.33 per share, in the same quarter last year.
Revenue rose 7%, to $9.7 billion. Results beat analyst expectations.
Comcast also announced it is hiking its annual dividend by 19%, to $0.45 per share, and that it plans to repurchase $2.1 billion in stock by the end of the year.
Also today, Deere & Co. (DE) reported first quarter earnings that more than doubled compared to last year.
Profits totaled $513.7 million, or $1.20 per share, compared to $243.2 million, or $0.57 per share, in last year’s first quarter.
Sales grew 27%, to $6.12 billion.
Results blew past analyst expectations.
Deere forecast full-year earnings of $2.5 billion, ahead of analyst expectations.
