After the bell on Thursday, the Board of Directors for Silver Wheaton (NYSE:SLW) initiated a quarterly cash dividend in the amount of three cents per share. Based on the current stock price, investors can expect a yield of about 0.2% going forward.
In afternoon trading, shares of SLW were heading higher, picking up about 2.3% so far.
In other dividend news, Verizon (NYSE:VZ) maintained its quarterly dividend of 48.75 cents per share. And Bunge Limited (NYSE:BG) maintained its quarterly dividend of 23 cents per share.
Among dividend increases, WalMart (NYSE:WMT) announced its quarterly dividend of 36.5 cents per share, an increase of about 20% over its prior dividend. And Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) announced its quarterly dividend of 17 cents per share, an increase of about 6% over its prior dividend.
