Oil and natural gas producer EXCO Resources (XCO) said today said an incident occurred at an amine treating facility on May 28 that killed one person and injured another.
The facility, in northwest Red River Parish, Louisiana, is operated by TGGT Midstream, a join venture of EXCO and BG Group.
The facility was shutdown immediately, as was another similar facility in DeSoto Parish, as a precaution pending results of a company investigation into causes and remediation actions. Natural gas production has been rerouted to alternate pipeline facilities, EXCO said.
EXCO said production interruptions could continue for several weeks, with charges of about $35,000 today to EXCO.
Last week, Chevron (NYSE:CVX) said an explosion and fire at a UK facility killed four.
