Arch Coal (NYSE:ACI) said today it has priced a secondary offering of 48 million shares of common stock at $27 per share.
Gross proceeds of the offerings will total about $1.3 billion, Arch said.
Underwriters have 30 days to purchase an additional 7.2 million shares to cover any over-allotments.
Arch Coal said it plans to use net proceeds of the offering to finance a portion of its $3.4 billion acquisition of International Coal Group (ICO).
Late yesterday, Anthera Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ANTH) announced it is planning a secondary public offering to use towards general corporate purposes.
Anthera did not indicate the size or expected terms of the offering, but said underwriters will have the option to purchase an additional 15% of the offering to cover over-allotments.
Anthera focuses on treatments for cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases.
