Standard & PoorÕs said late yesterday Marathon Petroleum (NYSE:MPC) will replace RadioShack (NYSE:RSH) in the S&P 500 index after Marathon Oil spins off Marathon Petroleum to shareholders, expected to be completed after the close of trading on June 30.
Marathon Oil will remain in the S&P 500 as well.
In turn, RadioShack will replace Harte-Hanks (NYSE:HHS) in the S&P MidCap 400 index, and Harte-Hanks will replaces Hutchinson Technology (NASDAQ:HTCH) in the S&P SmallCap 600 index.
S&P also said AMC Networks (AMCXV) will replace Boyd Gaming (NYSE:BYD) in the S&P MidCap 400 index once Cablevision systems (NYSE:CVC) spins off AMC Networks, in a transaction expected to close on June 30.
In turn, Boyd Gaming will replace StarTek (NYSE:SRT) in the S&P SmallCap 600 index. Cablevision will remain in the S&P 500.
And, Holly Corp. (HOC) will replace Frontier Oil (FTO) in the S&P MidCap 400 index, following HollyÕs acquisition of Frontier on June 30. The company will change its name to HollyFrontier.
In turn, Entropic Communications (NASDAQ:ENTR) will replace Holly in the S&P SmallCap 600.
