Agilent Technologies (NYSE:A) reported fiscal third quarter earnings after the close of trading yesterday.
The scientific testing equipment maker said profits rose to $330 million, or $0.92 per share, compared to $205 million, or $0.58 per share, in last year’s third quarter.
Adjusted earnings of $0.77 per share beat analyst expectations, as did revenue, which rose 22% to $1.69 billion.
Agilent said it anticipates earnings of $0.79 to $0.81 per share in the fourth quarter, on revenue of $1.74 billion to $1.76 billion. Those figures meet analyst forecasts at the high end.
Also late yesterday, Urban Outfitters (NASDAQ:URBN) reported fiscal second quarter earnings of $56.7 million, or $0.35 per share, down from $71.7 million, or $0.42 per share, last year.
Revenue rose 10%, to $609.2 million, on a 2% decline in same-store sales.
Results beat analyst expectations.
The company expects same-store sales to rise gradually throughout the rest of this year and into next.
