The markets are breathing easier today following news of progress on the European Union's management of Greece's debt crisis.
EU officials worked with Greece's lenders to take 50% writedowns on the country's debt.
Further, the European Union's emergency bailout fund was increased to $1.4 trillion.
Both European and U.S. financials are getting a boost in today's trading.
Deutsche Bank (NYSE:DB) is trading higher by 12.8%, while UBS (NYSE:UBS) trades up 8%.
Barclays (NYSE:BCS) is trading up 11.7%, and Lloyds Banking Group (NYSE:LYG) is trading up over 6.4%.
In the U.S., Citigroup (NYSE:C) is trading higher by 6.2%, while Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) trades up 5.4%. Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) is trading up 5%, and Morgan Stanley is trading up 9.6%.
