Separately, Bloomberg reported today that Citi has stopped soliciting clients for some retail banking products in Japan pending the outcome of a Japanese Financial Services Agency probe into its compliance with local laws.
Also today, Bank of America Marrill Lynch (NYSE:BAC) said it hired Ian Ferguson as managing director in United Kingdom investment banking. Ferguson comes from Evercore Partners (NYSE:EVR), although he was formerly with Merrill Lynch.
Rival JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM) edged out Bank of America and Barclays (NYSE:BCS) to top the list of Institutional Investor's research analyst rankings.
