Sporting goods retailer Hibbett Sports (NASDAQ:HIBB) posted a 27% increase in third quarter earnings today.
Profits rose to $16 million, or $0.59 per share, from $12.6 million, or $0.44 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Sales rose 10.6% to $185.2 million, on a 7% increase in same-store sales.
Both earnings and sales beat analyst expectations.
Hibbett hiked its full year forecast to earnings of $2.05 to $2.11 per share compared to prior expectations for earnings of $1.90 to $2 per share.
Rival Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS) beat analyst expectations with its earnings report earlier in the week.
Late yesterday, athletic footwear and apparel producer Nike (NYSE:NKE) said its board of directors hiked its quarterly dividend 16%, to $0.36 per share.
Nike has increased its dividend for 10 years in a row.
And today, yoga-inspired apparel maker and retailer lululemon athletica (NASDAQ:LULU) said it has appointed Facebook's director of local and mobile partnerships, Emily White, to its board.
