The NASDAQ OMX Group (NASDAQ:NDAQ) has announced a series of changes to its Nasdaq 100 Index.
The index is composed of the 100 largest non-financial stocks listed on the Nasdaq, and is re-ranked each year in December.
Avago Technologies (NASDAQ:AVGO), Fossil (NASDAQ:FOSL), Rangold Resources (NYSE:GOLD), Hansen Natural (HANS) and Nuance Communications (NUAN) will all be added to the index prior to the market open on December 19.
FLIR Systems (FLIR), Illumina (NASDAQ:ILMN), NII Holdings (NIHD), Qiagen (NYSE:QGEN) and Urban Outfitters (NASDAQ:URBN) will in turn be removed from the index.
Investors may want to keep an eye on the impacted stocks, to see if investors are trading based on the news.
