Rambus (NASDAQ:RMBS) said late yesterday it has signed a patent license agreement with Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM).
The agreement covers the use of Rambus patented innovations in a broad range of integrated circuit products offered by Broadcom.
The companies have agreed to settle all outstanding claims, including resolution of past use of Rambus' patent innovations.
The patent license agreement lasts for five years, and all other terms ñ including financial terms ñ are confidential, Rambus said.
Rambus is a technology licensing company, which develops technologies aimed at enhancing the end-user experience of electronic systems, largely in semiconductors.
Rambus shares have fallen significantly since the company lost a patent suit to Micron (NASDAQ:MU) in November. Broadcom won a patent infringement suit vs. Emulex (NYSE:ELX) earlier in the week.
Rambus shares are trading higher Friday, and Broadcom looked poised to tick higher as of premarket trading, as well.
