The iShares S&P Global Utilities Sector Index Fund ETF (NYSE:JXI) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 276,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 44,000. Shares of JXI were up about 0.1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Duke Energy (NYSE:DUK), trading down about 0.4% with over 5.0 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Ppl (NYSE:PPL), off about 0.2% on volume of over 3.3 million shares. Northeast Utilities (NU) is the component faring the best Thursday, higher by about 0.8% on the day, while Cpfl Energia (NYSE:CPL) is lagging other components of the iShares S&P Global Utilities Sector Index Fund ETF, trading lower by about 1.8%.
