Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Wednesday, Mannatech Inc (NASDAQ:MTEX)'s Director, Larry A. Jobe, made a $18,788 purchase of MTEX, buying 4,500 shares at a cost of $4.18 each. So far Jobe is in the green, up about 7.1% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $4.47. Mannatech Inc is trading up about 1.1% on the day Thursday. In the past year, 1 other insider purchased MTEX, purchasing $11,636 shares for a cost of $0.47 a piece.
And also on Wednesday, Director Frank K. Reilly purchased $11,252 worth of Fort Dearborn Income Securities IN (NYSE:FDI), purchasing 700 shares at a cost of $16.07 each. Before this latest buy, Reilly bought FDI at 2 other times during the past twelve months, for a total investment of $23,750 at an
average of $14.84 per share. Fort Dearborn Income Securities is trading off about 0.1% on the day Thursday.
