Investors will be paying attention to what the Euro Zone Finance Ministers will be saying regarding debt restructuring for Greece, and will also be keeping an eye on the EU decision regarding the ban on new contracts for Iranian oil, among other measures.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for Tuesday January 23, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was relatively flat, and the Hang Seng Index was higher by more than three quarters of a percent.
The FTSE 100 is currently higher by about 0.66 percent, and the German DAX is higher by about a half of one percent.
Some key data due to be released this week includes Initial Claims, Durable Goods Orders, New Home Sales and GDP.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) on Tuesday, ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) on Wednesday, 3M (NYSE:MMM) on Thursday and Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) on Friday.
