Autoliv Incorporated (NYSE:ALV) announced its quarterly dividend of 47 cents per share, an increase of about 4% over its prior dividend in February of 45 cents. The dividend declared today will be payable on Thursday, June 7, 2012 to stockholders of record on the close of business on May 23, 2012. The ex-date will be Monday, May 21. The dividend amount paid to stockholders is expected to be close to $45 million, an increase of nearly $5 million, or approximately 10%, from the dividend paid in the first quarter. In addition to the higher dividend per share, the increase in the dividend amount is due to the fact that there will be approximately 6% more shares outstanding on the record date for the second quarter, primarily resulting from the settlement of equity units on April 30, 2012.
Shares are higher by almost 2.2 percent.
In other dividend news, Baxter International Incorporated (NYSE:BAX) maintained its quarterly dividend of 33.5 cents per share. Precision Castparts Corporation (NYSE:PCP) maintained its quarterly dividend of 3 cents per share. Centurylink Incorporated (NYSE:CTL) maintained its quarterly dividend of 72.5 cents per share.
Among dividend increases, Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC) announced its quarterly dividend of 49.5 cents per share, an increase of about 10% over its prior dividend in December of 45 cents.
Among dividend reductions, Frontier Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:FTR) announced its quarterly dividend of 10 cents per share, a decrease of about 47% from its prior dividend in December of 18.8 cents.
