Lorillard Incorporated (NYSE:LO) announced its quarterly dividend of 1 dollar and 55 cents per share, an increase of about 19% over its prior dividend in November of 1 dollar and 30 cents. The dividend will be payable on March 9, 2012, to stockholders of record on March 1, 2012. The yield on the dividend is now 5.5 percent.
Shares are higher by 10.4 percent.
In other dividend news, UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE:UNH) maintained its quarterly dividend of 16.25 cents per share. Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW) maintained its quarterly dividend of 25 cents per share.
Among dividend increases, Thomson Reuters Corporation (NYSE:TRI) announced its quarterly dividend of 32 cents per share, an increase of about 3% over its prior dividend in November of 31 cents.
Among dividend reductions, News Corporation (NASDAQ:NWSA) announced a dividend of 8.5 cents per share, a decrease of about 11% from its prior dividend in September of 9.5 cents.
