Stocks were decidedly positive heading into the last hour of trading. This, as investors factored in Greece's acceptance of an austerity deal that they hope will prevent default. At 3pm this afternoon the Dow and S&P 500 were up .7% and the Nasdaq was up almost 1%.
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:REGN) surprised investors today by revising a sales forecast for its eye drug Eylea to almost double the original estimates.
Regeneron now expects $250-$300 million in sales for this year. Eylea is used to treat wet age-related macular degeneration.
Aegerion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:AEGR) and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) helped boost the Nasdaq today, with Apple reaching over $500 per share for the first time.
Tomorrow, investors will be watching for the government's report on retail sales and business inventories.
