although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock,

presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make

a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two

noteworthy recent insider buys.

On Thursday, Horizon Bancorp (NASDAQ:HBNC)'s Director, Peter L. Pairitz, made a

$62,405 purchase of HBNC, buying 3,500 shares at a cost of $17.83 each.

Bargain hunters are able to snag HBNC at a price even lower than Pairitz

did, with the stock trading as low as $17.50 at last check today -- that's

1.9% below Pairitz's purchase price. Horizon Bancorp is trading off about

0.8% on the day Tuesday. Before this latest buy, Pairitz purchased HBNC on

2 other occasions during the past twelve months, for a total cost of

$162,000 at an average of $27.00 per share.

And also on Thursday, Director Carlos Morrison bought $59,392 worth of 1st

United Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ:FUBC), buying 10,000 shares at a cost of $5.94 a

piece. Before this latest buy, Morrison made one other buy in the past

year, purchasing $55,000 shares at a cost of $5.50 each. 1st United

Bancorp, Inc. is trading up about 0.3% on the day Tuesday.
