The markets made a recovery from the previous session, with a little help from some economic data which came in better than expected.
The ADP National Employment Report showed that 216,000 private sector jobs were added in February, and that was better than the expected gain of 208,000.
On Friday, we'll be watching for the monthly government jobs report, with economists expecting a gain of 210,000 in overall nonfarm payrolls.
Meanwhile the Labor Department reported that unit labor costs rose at an annual rate of 2.8 percent, while wages rose at an upwardly revised 3.9 percent pace in the third quarter.
The Mortgage Bankers Association is reporting a drop in weekly mortgage applications, despite an increase on home purchases.
All eyes were on Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) today as the tech giant unveiled a new version of the iPad, which boasts a high definition display screen and is also the company's first tablet to run on the high speed 4G network. The price tag for the new iPad is $499 and will be available on March 16th.
In earnings news, Pandora (NYSE:P) had its price target cut by Citigroup and JPMorgan, after the online radio company issued a weak outlook.
