As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At MVC Capital Incorporated (NYSE:MVC), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Wednesday, Director Emilia Dominianni purchased 5,000 shares of MVC, for a cost of $13.12 each, for a total investment of $65,600. Mvc Capital Incorporated is trading up about 0.1% on the day Friday.
And on Tuesday, Director Ira G. Kawaller purchased $48,816 worth of Hatteras Financial Corp (NYSE:HTS), purchasing 1,800 shares at a cost of $27.12 each. Before this latest buy, Kawaller made one other buy in the past twelve months, purchasing $12,025 shares at a cost of $28.63 a piece. Hatteras Financial Corp is trading up about 0.3% on the day Friday. So far Kawaller is in the green, up about 4.0% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $28.20.
