Investors will be digesting fresh data that is raising expectations of a European recession, as as as news that China would accept a slower growth rate.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for March 5, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was lower by about eight tenths of a percent, and the Hang Seng Index was lower by about 1.4 percent.
The FTSE 100 was lower by about two tenths of a percent, and the German DAX was lower by about half a percent.
Some key data due to be released this week includes crude inventories and consumer credit on Wednesday, continuing claims on Thursday, and the trade balance on Friday.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Bridgepoint Education (BPI) on Tuesday, Fairpoint Communications (FRP) on Wednesday, Achillion Pharmaceuticals (ACHN) and Main Street Capital (MAIN) on Thursday, and Pokertek (PTEK) on Friday.
