International Business Machines (NYSE:IBM) announced its quarterly dividend of 85 cents per share, an increase of about 13% over its prior dividend in February of 75 cents. The company also authorized $7 billion in additional funds for use in the company's stock repurchase program, in addition to approximately $5.7 billion remaining at the end of March from a prior authorization. The dividend is payable June 9 to stockholders of record as of May 10.
Shares are higher by about seven tenths of a percent.
In other dividend news, American Electric Power Incorporated (NYSE:AEP) maintained its quarterly dividend of 47 cents per share. Noble Energy Incorporated (NYSE:NBL) maintained its quarterly dividend of 22 cents per share. Suntrust Banks Incorporated (NYSE:STI) maintained its quarterly dividend of 5 cents per share.
Among dividend increases, Williams Partners (NYSE:WPZ) announced its quarterly dividend of 77.75 cents per share, an increase of about 2% over its prior dividend in February of 76.3 cents.
