National Penn Bancshares Incorporated (NASDAQ:NPBC) announced its quarterly dividend of 7 cents per share, an increase of about 40% over its prior dividend in February of 5 cents. The dividend is payable to shareholders of record as of May 5, 2012 and will be paid May 17, 2012. Additionally, the company announced the repurchase of up to 7.5 million shares of common stock throughout 2012, representing approximately five percent (5%) of the total number of shares outstanding.
Shares are higher by about 4.4 percent.
In other dividend news, AT&T Incorporated (NYSE:T) maintained its quarterly dividend of 44 cents per share. Goldcorp Incorporated New (NYSE:GG) maintained its monthly dividend of 4.5 cents per share. American Financial Group Incorporated Ohio (NYSE:AFG) maintained its quarterly dividend of 17.5 cents per share.
Among dividend increases, Bank of the Ozarks Incorporated (NASDAQ:OZRK) announced its quarterly dividend of 12 cents per share, an increase of about 9% over its prior dividend in January of 11 cents.
