Markets are lower today, mainly in response to Friday's disappointing jobs data. In afternoon trading, the Dow was down 105 points while the S&P 500 was lower by 1%.
Earnings season will start this week, with aluminum giant Alcoa (AA) announcing on Tuesday. Tech giant Google (GOOG) will announce after the close on Thursday, while JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and Wells Fargo (WFC) will announce on Friday morning.
Apple (AAPL) today experienced a rare downgrade, with BTIG Research warning that the company's telecom partners may reduce generous iPhone subsidies. The stock, however, shrugged off the downgrade by setting new highs in afternoon trading.
