Foot Locker (NYSE:FL) announced that it earned $128 million, or 83 cents per share, up from $94 million, or 60 cents per share, in the same period last year. Revenue increased by 8.7 percent to $1.58 billion from $1.45 billion. Analysts had expected a profit of 74 cents per share on $1.55 billion in revenue.
Shares are higher in early trading.
Brown Shoe (NYSE:BWS) announced that it earned $1.7 million, or 4 cents per share, down from $3.7 million, or 8 cents per share, in the same quarter last year. Analysts expected earnings of 7 cents per share. Revenue, however, increased by 1 percent to $626.4 million from $619.6 million, beating estimates of $600.7 million.
