Office Depot (NASDAQ:ODP) announced that it earned $41 million, or 14 cents per share, in its most recent fiscal quarter, versus a loss of $14.6 million in the same period last year. Revenue was $2.9 billion, down by three percent versus the same period last year. After preferred dividends, the company earned 5 cents per share.
Shares are lower by about a third of a percent.
Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) announced that it earned $1.79 billion, or 24 cents per share, down from $2.22 billion, or 28 cents a share in the same period last year. Excluding one-time items,the company would have earned $4.43 billion, or 58 cents per share. Analysts had expected 56 cents a share. Revenue was $15.4 billion, down 7 percent from $16.5 billion in the same period last year. Analysts had expected revenue of $15.46 billion.
