Rue21 (RUE) announced that it earned $11.6 million, or 46 cents per share, for the most recent fiscal quarter, up from $9.6 million, or 38 cents per share, earned in the same period last year. Analysts expected earnings of 43 cents per share. Revenue increased by 19 percent to $205.6 million from $172.9 million, beating analyst estimates of $204.5 million. The company announced it expects to earn between $1.76 to $1.81 per share for the full year, up from the prior forecast of $1.74 to $1.79.
Shares are higher by over six percent.
Earlier this month, competitor clothing retailer Chico's (CHS) announced earnings that beat analyst estimates.
