The Rare Earth/Strategic Metals ETF (AMEX:REMX) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 99,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 81,000. Shares of REMX were up about 0.4% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Friday were Molycorp (NYSE:MCP), trading off about 0.9% with over 879,000 shares changing hands so far this session, and Titanium Metals (TIE), down about 0.4% on volume of over 705,000 shares. Thompson Creek Metal (TSE:TCM.CA) is the component faring the best Friday, higher by about 2.5% on the day, while Great Western Minerals Group Limited (CVE:GWG.CA) is lagging other components of the Rare Earth/Strategic Metals ETF, trading lower by about 1.2%.
