As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Tuesday, AAR Corp (NYSE:AIR)'s CEO, David P. Storch, made a $218,504 purchase of AIR, buying 20,000 shares at a cost of $10.93 each. So far Storch is in the green, up about 8.5% on their buy based on today's trading high of $11.85. AAR Corp is trading up about 6.2% on the day Wednesday.
And at Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE:MDT), there was insider buying on Monday, by Richard H. Anderson who bought 5,200 shares for a cost of $37.94 each, for a total investment of $197,284. Before this latest buy, Anderson made one other purchase in the past year, buying $105,690 shares for a cost of $35.23 a piece. Medtronic, Inc. is trading off about 0.1% on the day Wednesday. So far Anderson is in the green, up about 1.6% on their buy based on today's trading high of $38.55.
