The first trading day of the week has investors hoping that a European Union summit this week will help calm the escalating euro zone debt crisis.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for June 25, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average is lower by about 0.72 percent, while the Hang Seng is lower by about half a percent. The FTSE 100 is lower about 0.65% and the German DAX is lower by about 1.65 percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from LDK Solar (NYSE:LDK) on Tuesday, Progress Software (NASDAQ:PRGS) on Wednesday, American Greetings (NYSE:AM) on Thursday, and Finish Line (NASDAQ:FINL) as well as Constellation Brands (NYSE:STZ) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on consumer confidence on Tuesday, pending home sales on Wednesday, and the GDP on Thursday.
